Vector Measurements are essential to measuring losses at points in a test configuration other than the point of connection to the Tester itself. Because of phase, the magnitude of losses varies along the length of a cable and even within the length defined by a mated connector pair. By properly analyzing phase, the tester can accurately move "the reference plane" and accurately determine losses at points other than where the tester is connected. |
